About Us
The University has reorganized the former Office of Institutional Research into the Center for Institutional Research and Sustainable Development. Guided by the mission of “implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), building a resilient campus, conducting institutional research in the spirit of sustainable development, and pursuing sustainability goals and social responsibility,” the Center comprises the Office of Institutional Research and the Office of Sustainability and Social Responsibility, integrating on- and off-campus resources and taking dedicated charge of advancing the University’s social responsibility.
As the longest-established university of medical technology in Taiwan — and the only institution across the eight central and northern counties and cities offering the most comprehensive range of healthcare-related departments — the University provides greater resources and services for regional development, gives back to society, and fulfills its university social responsibility. In alignment with talent-cultivation priorities in the health-food, biotechnology and pharmaceutical, information-service, wellness-and-care, and long-term care (management) industries, the University pursues its mission of promoting health and well-being and serving the community, highlighting Yuanpei University of Medical Technology’s distinctive strengths in smart biomedicine and healthcare, while progressively advancing its institutional identity and educational brand.
Accordingly, drawing on its distinctive expertise, the University has established a social responsibility practice base centered on three pillars — “Elderly Care,” “Age-Friendliness,” and “Intergenerational Prosperity” — and driven by “talent cultivation,” “local engagement,” and “innovative teaching for sustainability.” Its action plans span three areas — “medical care,” “health promotion,” and “green living” — with the goal of creating a “friendly, prosperous, sustainable and resilient ecosystem.”
